I have found a new way to take notes and keep track of quotes and citations! well new for me
steps:
1. List (Author, date) article title if needed
2. Take notes on sections or quotes or main ideas that are interesting
3. Include page numbers so you can reference them quickly
4. Repeat with each article/ resource you read
5. Number the repeating themes from each author.
6. Use the numbers to combine information into main sections for you paper.

This also helps to keep track of the number of citations or quotes used, and helps to make each section more concrete.
I hope it helps you as much as it has for me.
